What’s all this about then?
My customers aren’t on Facebook? My customers aren’t on Instagram? I’ve tried it before and it doesn’t work. People are abandoning Facebook now anyway.
Yep, there are 2.6 billion people on Facebook and over a billion active users on Instagram.
Why would you not want to rationally leverage all that data and nail down your customers amongst that 3.6 billion users? That’s what is there for – and making it so ‘it doesn’t work’ isn’t in the best interest of Facebook is it? If businesses make money then they come back and spend more – so it’s designed to be an agile and incredible advertising tool used in conjunction with your other marketing channels – it’s not a silver bullet.
Advertising on Facebook is objective focused. You can focus your efforts on a very specific target audience and a really clear objective – all for what would be considered to be pretty small change.
Facebook ads reach 1.95 billion of the total active users, that’s an incredible 32% of the global population over the age of 13.
Across the world the average Facebook user has clicked on 12 ads in the last 30 days.
The average organic reach for a Facebook post is 6.4% of the page’s likes. Ads are relatively cheap and can obliterate organic performance.
“We’d tried to ‘boost’ a few posts and weren’t really sure why. Sea Clearly Digital set up our pixel, helped us use our own data and delivered ad campaigns that were getting us loads of new customers. The added bonus was that for every £1 we spent on ads we were getting close to £17 back in revenue.”
